For those who don't know, this is Tallarn's claim to fame: they fought a god-damn traitor legion to a standstill. An ENTIRE traitor legion. Perturabo laid siege to it to acquire some chaos artifact, and these badass normals had the audacity to hold the line against him until Horus came along, and told him to GTFO because he was wasting resources harder than Angron at Isstvan and they had better things to do.

This is probably the track that most sounds like 40k's obvious Dune parody origins, too. I can't help but imagine Tallarn Desert Raiders in stillsuitsm popping up from under the sand and slaughtering Iron Warriors like they were Sarduakar. Sort of like how Magnus the Red is basically the Primarch of whichever cultures built pyramids.

What i love about W40k is how it brings all kinds of people and cultures together, its all mixed up but still unique, everybody united in the imperium to fight for mankind and protect humanity.
Sash13 My thoughts exactly! German Kriegs, English Pretorians, Scottish Tanith, Turkish Maccabians, Russian Vostryrians/Valhallans, Arab Tallarn, and more and that’s just the Guard! Even with particular Space Marine chapters/successor chapters you can see how culturally/ethically diverse the Imperium is and how they are all united together against the enemies of Man! Funnily enough how even in the grim darkness of the far future some good concerning Humanity is done such as the end of racism and xenophobia between fellow Humans! :D Now if only we could work on that in real life...

For that we need a unifying force (the Emperor) and a common enemy (xenos and Chaos). Without that I'm afraid our fragmentation and endless childish bickering will continue. But yeah, the Warhammer universe is amazing in that all aspects of humanity are represented and none of it feels contrived or forced.

As the tanks rise over the dunes to fight the traitorous cur, as the people of the Tallarn survive to fight once more, as the Iron Warriors run from the world they destroyed and the battle they lost, this song plays. As the Desert Raiders attacks the enemies of the God-Emperor, as they push back the forces of chaos and show the strength of simple men once more, this song plays.
What I'm saying is, great job again Stringstorm, you're really knocking it our of the park recently
tbh the Tallarn Desert Raiders are one of the more underrated Imperial Guard Regiments. These guys fought the Iron Warriors (yknow, the masters of siege) in the largest tank battle the Imperium has ever seen, with a mere handful of loyalist SM personnel, and WON. Oh, and they did this AFTER their planet got blasted to hell. Clearly Perty didn't account for the harshness of the desert. But then again, neither did the people of Tallarn.
In other words, awesome.

I still believe that the different Guardsmen regiments should be like the chapters for the Space Marines.
Give:
- the Cadians extra range and ap on artillery and tanks
- the Catachans get movement range on troops and a retreat + charge option
- the Elysians get grav shutes as a tactic
- the Krieg Death Corps should get + on invulnerability saves and rapid assault
- the tallarn raiders get movement on tanks and cover on units that are 12'' away from enemies
I like this idea. Would make playing guard more interesting and who knows maybe some new models.

So if you like if a person thinks aliens killed JFK, you can say that that's a belief you don't take seriously enough to respect a legitimate idea, and I respect the person who holds that idea.
The reverse is also true. You can say for example, "I respect Hitler's artistic opinions, but I don't respect Hitler the person".
The point is that ideas and people are sperate things which should each be respected or not respected based on their merits.

People who say Warhammer 40k is racist don't know shit about this amazing universe. They probably hear jokes about xenophobia and assume all the wrong things.
I always thought 40k regiments were more grey. In the sense that any and every race of humans was in the guard regiments. It's just whatever culture or people the regiments are based off of are more common. You could argue the same about space marines too. Unfortunately, every fandom has their shitty fans and to be fair, I've had to deal with a bunch of 40k fans that were a bit racist.

I don't think race matters in 40k, so long as you're a human. Your blood slows the enemy the same regardless of skin color
That's something I love about 40k, every culture in Earth it's represented in a way or another.
The book is insane, even Astartes in the book couldn't survive outside of the protection of tanks so that gave the defenders an edge. Really leveled the playing field where you just needed to damage a tank to kill the crew. One mistake could cost you the entire crew and tank, there is no escape hatch to safety.
Tallarn are definitely a badass regiment, sadly we don’t see more of them
The rules heavily favour Cadia and Catachan but Tallarn has the best cheese.
I feel that in game they should be like the regiment you run if your doing armor because they are very good tankers and mechanized infantry
