This interview was conducted by @Gesu-. Credit is duly given to him, and to few others who've contributed with questions. The interview has been structured with spoilers to facilitate scrolling. ______________________________________ Interview with @VIKINGUBERMENSCH. Tell me about yourself GREETINGS! I AM KINGUBERMENSCH, or in RL, Joshua Celebre (I know it's quite a lame name amirite?). You may know me as the "GAR guy", the "CAPS LOCK guy" or even as the mighty, brave, majestic KING who rises above all! I shall now regal you with tales from beyond the MAL realm. I was born in Hawaii in a suburbian area. I discovered anime when I was in the 9th grade, my first anime being Bleach (I don’t count stuff like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh). I am born into a family of 5 other people, my mum, father, my mum's parents, and my little sister. I also have two puppies, two guinea pigs, and a rabbit. I really love animals m8. Other than the fact that my whole family are Jehovah's Witnesses (and I’m pretty sure you know about them...) I lived an otherwise normal life. I however, am an atheist, you can see where this is going now? Though I am an atheist, it's less "I don't believe god exists" and more "I hope God doesn’t exist". Can you imagine an all-powerful deity always watching you're every move and judging every move you make for the rest of your life? That's not all, if you actually read the bible... I'll just leave this quote from Richard Dawkins. Lets just say if you actually read the bible enough, you'll know what I'm talking about: “The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.” Now before this turns into a religious rant, I’ll tell you why this is relevant. Basically, telling my religious parents that their son is an atheist didn't turn out well per say. Note, they aren't abusive, in fact, they're good parents when they put religion aside. But of course, they weren't pleased. Nonetheless, they'll support me until I'm ready to leave the house. I plan on leaving somewhere early this year to join the Air Force branch. For now, I am just chilling and trying to enjoy being a kid without responsibilities while I still can. I thought about it for a while and i decided to join the military for several reasons:
I think that’s it, I might have forgotten a few reasons, but overall I want to join the military to become self-sufficient, become a better man, and have fun. As for my school life, I didn't really have close friends, though I did have acquaintances that I shared a few laughs with. Despite the work I have to do and the idiotic kids there, I actually liked coming to school because I liked being amongst muh peers, gave me something to do, let me get out of the house, and I can actually act like myself instead of the goody-two-shoes mask I have to put on around my family. For my personality, on the outside I seem quiet and introverted, and for the most part I am. But as you can see from how I act on MAL, I can be very boisterous and energetic when I want too. Back then though, I really was that quiet, introverted kid you usually see at school, I bet you know what I'm talking about. But then I found Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It taught me to learn how to "believe in the me that believes in me." It taught me to be more outgoing, a stronger sense of pride and confidence, and to be more brave in getting what i want. You can say that TTGL has a lot of sentimental value to me. Then came my second tutor, Friedrich Nietzsche. He essentially voiced most of my actual beliefs that I really believed in all along. Does that make sense? It's like, he told me the stuff that i already believed in, it's just that until that point, I didn't know that i believed in them. But the most vital part of his philosophy that impacted me was the concept of the Ubermensch, and MAster vs. Slave Morality. I don't want this to be an entire essay on Nietzsche, but essentially:
Now you know why I picked the name KINGUBERMENSCH, these things have been vital into making me the man that I am and the man I aim to be. They are also the reason why I deem Satsuki Kiryuin from Kill la Kill my worthy waifu, I wrote an entire 1000+ word essay in my profile on why I love and admire her so much. If you want you can read it. I know it sounds weeb, but we're all weebs here right? My lifestyle can be summed up into this quote I made up: A king is defined not by his social status, but by his independent will, resolve, pride in himself and ability to enjoy life to the fullest. Those who do not have or reject those things are weak, filthy, petty commoners. - KINGUBERMENSCH Some Miscellaneous facts:
Oh, and one more thing: SIMON>>shitji Put it this way, would you rather soar up or fall down? The choice is obvious aint it? Give us a brief history of your time on MAL. Which sections of MAL are you the most active on? I actually used this site to read reviews and stuff before, but i never really made an account until October 2015. And it was only because I was like "huh, let see what it's like." My original username was LORDUBERKAISER, but then I changed it to KINGUBERMENSCH because the latter sounded cooler and had meaning unlike the former which was just something I made up out of boredom. I started out just messing around on FG, but then I ran into some of my current friends, specifically @Royal-Guard-Reli. In fact, I don't even remember how I met him :P. Gradually, I started making more friends. I honestly miss Rouzhan though, I remember the old days when us two and @Refractingone would go back and forth insulting each other on the harshly judge threads with quality insults. Now it's just me and @Tiramisu. I met one of my good friends, @Sora_92 , when I made a thread in CC about a story I'm writing. He would go through the effort of making entire walls of text just to give me input on my story, which was very helpful and i appreciate him for that. Even when we're talking about other stuff, he'd write walls of text, showing how much effort he puts in. While I do honestly appreciate him for that, it's kind of a pain to write back :P. Sorry man, but I have to spend time reading them, then I have to think of a response for a far longer time than I do with my other friends. Nonetheless, he deserves a pat on the back for the amount of effort he puts in his posts and for being one of my best friends here on MAL. I usually hang around on @Royal-Guard-Reli's Waifu Brigade club and FG, but I sometimes post on CG and AD. And I sometimes look around on CE for the latest political shitstorm. I always look forward to @Mkim 's posts on AD and CD, imo he's the best shitposter MAL has. Oh, and I also tend to participate in the tournaments that people come up with in FG, like the legendary Shit Taste Tournament. Though i also made a few tournaments myself, the Most GAR tournament and the Best Music Taste tournament (the latter of which, I felt could've gone so much better.) How do you think the MAL community sees you? How do you feel about that? I'll bet that they see me as the crazy GAR guy, or as dear Tiramisu puts it: Tiramisu said: Tiramisu said: and you think you're all manly and shit, but you ended up dying alone with NO BITCHES and EVEN LESS TESTOSTERONE. This quality insult is the reason I love the harshly judge threads. Thank you Tiramisu for making them great. They probably see me as someone with a Waifu complex as well. But hey, if Royal-Guard-Reli can do it, why can't I? But overall, I don't let other people's opinions rule over me, that is the sign of a peasant after all. What do you feel about the board you use the most? What do you feel about the community in general? I think FG is the most tame of all the boards, it's a place where everyone (mostly) forgets their differences and acts retarded together in harmony. In FG, we're all a big, happy family. Outside however... As for the community as a whole, well it ain’t perfect but it's better than youtube. I’d even say this site is pretty tame, luckily though we have people like @OnetrueEmiya @Mkim @Comic_sans to shake things up. How do you feel about how the site is run? Especially in regards to the moderators and admins. I think the site is run just fine. Never had issues with the Mod Gods. In fact, I am friends with @Ardanaz , or "lewd kitty senpai" , as reli puts it. And he's pretty cool while being lewd. And I love lewd… Any users you like? Why? @Royal-Guard-Reli One of my best friends here on MAL. I can pretty much talk about anything with him and he'll have something interesting to say. He even has some good life experience so i can ask him about adult life. Oh, and he spread his waifu complex to me, so i have him to thank , at least partially, for making Satsuki my Waifu. @Sora_92 Another of my best friends here. Always writing walls of text to almost all of the things i talk about with. He's also vital in helping me form the story I'm writing. @Mkim Best shitposter ever. never change boyo~ @Tiramisu Makes Harshly Judge threads great. @Ardanaz Certainly the best mod here. @Dawningfog All though pretty damn inactive, she's a nice girl to talk too and pretty wise as well. @Kagami For making MAL survivor, I know it crashed and burned, but I really appreciate you for making a fun 1st season. MAKEMALSURVIVORGREATAGAIN2016 Think that's about it. If I forgot anyone that likes me, I’m sorry. Any users you dislike? Why? @Kotarou_ Back when I first started MAL, he seemed to be really hostile towards me for no reason, even in FG he'd be hostile. I don't know why though. Maybe I'm just being Paranoid. @Cherrylover I never spoke to her once, but I see her on AD constantly spewing her shitty feminism everywhere. Nearly every time she posts, she manages to somehow make anything about feminism. I see her inane arguments constantly beaten down but she always responds as if someone shot a puppy in front of her. She goes around telling people that they should be ashamed of whatever they just said that she doesn't like, geez get off your high horse already. I have to wonder though, how can people like her live through life constantly being offended by nearly everything they come across? I've never talked to her and hopefully never will. Cherry, if you by any chance read this, here's some advice: Chill out. We live in the most peaceful time in human history. Compared to just a few decades ago, today is nothing in terms of problems. As for your concern over feminism, women are enjoying more rights than they were just a few decades ago. You live in a 1st world country, be grateful that you're not in some place like Africa or North Korea where you would have been shot dead for saying what you said. I’m saying this not to be mean, but out of genuine pity for you. If you don't, then at the very least, leave MAL. It's clear that you're just hurting yourself over here. I wish you good tidings. What are some MAL members you consider the most influential? You're not allowed to include yourself. But I’m the KING! Uhh… other interviewees have said this but I think influential isn't the right word. Cause, how can anyone be more influential than the mods? I think you should use "popular" instead. Though if I must name one... @Xinil , yeah I know it's a cheap answer :P. But I mean, without him, we wouldn't have all this fun site filled with so many interesting people and shitposters. Thank you Xinil. Is there a MAL member you would want to take on a date or get to know better? Who and why? Hmm... @Dawningfog She sounds like a girl I’d smash :P @Royal-Guard-Reli He sounds like a cool guy, plus it sounds like he's the only one on MAL with some gud life experience. I don't swing that way tho. @Sora_92 @Richie If only you two were girls… Do you see yourself leaving MAL in the near future? Why? Nope, I made some good friends here, and this site is pretty fun to be in. So most likely not unless my friends leave MAL. Can you recommend us 3 members who we can choose from to interview next and briefly explain why you would love to read their interviews? @Sora_92 He's an interesting guy with lots of knowledge on story writing. Plus he'd be more than happy to write more walls of text~ That's about it, all the other people I wanted interviewed already were. @Royal-Guard-Reli’s questions Do you believe philosophy is dead? Regardless of the answer, please explain why. No and it never will. As long as fully sentient organisms with sufficient mental capacity exist, philosophy will never die. Philosophy is defined as "the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence." Its essentially one's views on life. Something like that will never die unless all humans or other organisms with similar mental capacity suddenly get wiped out of existence. I hear you plan to enlist on joining a branch of military. For that reason I yearn to ask you; do you fear taking the life of another person? My mind tells me no, I have no qualms with it. I knew what joining the military entails, after all, the entire point of a military throughout history has been to kill enemies of the state they serve. And, as history and even current events has shown, sometime the only way to solve, or at least, fend off, a problem is through Force, or through fear of Force. If I were to suddenly lose my nerve, that would be very cowardly of me and I'd be ashamed of myself. My heart, however, is uncertain. To keep this short, there are times when I realize my heart and emotions aren't as cold and hard as I thought. However, that is simply another challenge I must face. I hope I won't have to do so, and to be honest, I doubt I'll have too, since: A: I’m in the air force, I would most likely be in a plane thousands of miles above ground to see people dying anyway, if I were to take a combative role. B: I’ve done a bit of research myself, and I honestly believe that we're living in the most peaceful time in history anyway. Take a look all around you, now compare that to just a century ago, you can clearly see the world's much more peaceful and comfortable then way back when. On top of that, our human rights are more defined and are more protected. Am i saying this world's perfect? No, and it will never be. Humans will always find reasons to quarrel. All we can do is keep improving ourselves as humans and Humanity and hope for the best. It's better than being a useless, pessimistic, whiney, defeatist. Why waste your life constantly and excessively in fear when you can instead enjoy yourself? Watch this video for more info: If you could ask Gilgamesh from the Fate/Series any advice, what would it be? Assuming I don't get called a Mongrel and skewered by Gate of Babylon first? Hmm... I guess...nothing. It's all up to me on how my life goes, and it's more fun to find out the answers to any questions I have myself. Besides, every time I imagine asking him for advice, I already know his response, "Do whats is best to you.", or something similar. That is the very core of his personality after all. Why do you watch anime? What's kept you in our ragtag group of outcast so long? Overall, why do you enjoy it? I watch it because it's fun and it makes me feel human. I had a conversation with Reli on what “makes art so great?” I responded with "because you can make it however you want". I realized however that I was wrong. Reli said: The greatest thing about art, in my eyes, is how it doesn't need logic, reasoning, not even a message, it's pure expression of humanity, all of its fire passion taken to a form when cannot normally expresses with our cages of flesh. Art is what humanity truly is, all of its emotion, feelings, what we are, in a shape we can never become. Haven't you ever felt like you were so angry you could just.... BURST! Blow up! All to ashes. You can never do that by yourself, but you sure as hell draw it, even write it in a short poem. Ever felt so low you could just converge into a slimy paste to the ground? You will never be able to do that, but you can express it through something such as a physical expression routine, A.K.A a dance. I love art, because art... is what we really are underneath our skin. It's us, in a new shape. Art is essentially a way of expressing our humanity in its purest form. It's what makes us human. It's what makes life meaningful. It's what makes life WORTH LIVING!! IT'S NOT THROUGH DOGMA, SCRIPTURE OR THROUGH ANOTHER BEING'S BLESSING THAT WE FIND MEANING IN LIFE. IT'S ART!!! But why anime specifically? Its simple, because I found it more appealing than most other art forms out there, it speaks to my soul and has impacted it more than most other art forms out there. Simple as that. @Mkim’s questions You seem too affectioned on the muscular male body. Are you actually a gaaaaaaaaaaaay? No, I'm not gay >_>. I’ve always liked pussy over dick. Even though their were a few 2D boys that i considered attractive, then again they were very feminine... dont click on this, please: https://rei.animecharactersdatabase.com/uploads/chars/11498-1045431842.png The reason I admire the muscular male body, potato-san, is because they're the physical manifestation of male greatness in my eyes. The pinnacle of the male body. It represents and projects strength, pride, and masculinity. Sadly though, current trends show that the females of today would rather have Justin Bieber than Arnold Schwarzenegger in his young days. I know this sounds sexist but I don't give a shit. Is it sad that the GAR movement doesn't realistically exist on modern times? Are you gonna cryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? Yiss, tis very sad indeed. i crie evry tiem ;-; BUT FEAR NOT! FOR I, KINGUBERMENSCH! SHALL CONTINUE TO PASS DOWN THE FLAME OF GAR TO THE NEXT GENERATION AND BEYOND, OR DIE TRYING!!! What's your favourite food? Is it dick? Oh, it isn’t? Is it muscular dick? My favorite food is pussy...if I had any ;-;. Ribeye steak cooked medium rare with a side of macaroni and cheese with a cup of sweetened iced tea~ No, it is not dick, nor the muscular kind tho I'd like to have one... that is food for homos and ladies. Elaborate on your passion for muscular dick, or if you want, read it this way: What happened in your life that you became such a shittasted that spouts things like "I LOATH THE THOUGHT OF WATCHING SLICE OF LIVES OR ROMANCE!!!!" What happened for you to have this strong passion towards the epic, the heroic, the legendary, the fourth word that actually means the same as the other three? The reason that SOLs, Moe, and their vile ilk, are my nemesis, is because: A: The anime industry is oversaturated with that disgusting filth. Sadly tho, we need that disgusting filth in order to fund masterpieces like Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Jojo, Drifters, etc. Out it this way, Moe scum are the filthy peasants that farm money for the Glorious, GAR Nobility. Any whose allegiance belongs to Moe scum, should go back to fields immediately and get back to work, lest you feel my whip! Filthy peasants… B: Ever since I was a wee lad, my parents constantly watched Filipino dramas, which are just oozing with cringy romance, acting, and random angry outbursts that consist of "muh lover! u r a witch!" "no dat ish muh lover!" "Steh aweh frem muh child!" Waawaawaaawaa.... i had to deal with this everyday. Hence my aversion to pretty much anything all "lovey-dovey". C: They're boring as fuck. Now get back to work, peasant. Oh shit, I totally misread that question, let me start over. The reason that I have such a passion for the Epic, the Heroic, the Legendary, etc. Is because they are, in my eyes, the greatest expression of the breath of life, or the Will to Power. They represent the human desire to achieve greatness, to charge into danger with confidence, to make yourself great, To feel alive. It motivates you to become great as well, to do something awesome with your life before your old and weak. In my eyes, people today are too content with mediocrity and don't want to take risks to become great. Life should be unpredictable and hard, but also fun and fulfilling. I think we need more tales of the Epic, the Heroic, the Legendary, THE GAR now more than ever, as life grows more and more comfortable, we need to keep our will to power burning strong. For that, in my eyes, is what makes life so good and worthwhile, having fun, and rising ever higher above your peers. @OneTrueEmiya's question Why is your name in all caps and why is Emiya objectively better than Gilgamesh? 1. Cause it stands out, and it's cool, simple as that you lowercase normie. 2. Before I start, just know that I have not seen the Heaven's feel route yet. And it has been a while since I watched fate, so my memory may be foggy on this. The reason Gilgamesh is vastly superior to that mongrel Shirou, is because Gilgamesh is an Ubermensch, and Shirou is not. An Ubermensch is a person who rises above the norms of society and lives by their own moral code. Gilgamesh clearly follows only the rules he set for himself. Shirou however, is just living off of borrowed ideals from his dead father, and doesn't have any desires of his own. At the final battle in UBW, Gilgamesh, and before that, Archer, rightly calls him a faker. A hollow puppet living off the wishes of the dead. And how does Shirou respond? "Just because you're correct doesn't mean you're right". Nice cop-out answer Shirou. Before you mention how Shirou defeated Gilgamesh in combat, know that he still hasn't come up with a concrete response to Gilgamesh's comment. Gilgamesh may have lost the battle, but he won the war. The fact that Gilgamesh was only going to Ea his ass at the last moment should show how lowly he views Shirou, in fact, I even think Shirou's not even worthy of getting Ea'd, unlike Iskandar and Seibah. To Ea him would imply that Shirou is on the same level as the likes of Iskandar, Seibah, and his one and only friend Enkindu. To Ea him would blemish those 3's memories. At least Gil's pride and Ea werent stained by the filthy blood of that faker. He died unstained and unblemished. He showed the Shirou has learned absolutely nothing over the course of his journey other than that he cannot save everyone, only those he can. Optional, but please, enlighten me @OneTrueEmiya , what is it that makes Shirou so special to you? Without spoiling HF of course. Btw, Gilgamesh x Seibah ftw. @DeadSnow24th's question If you could choose one anime/manga/video game/VN girl to bring into real life, who would it be? Easy, my waifu Satsuki Kiryuin: My reasons for it are in my about me, but the reasons why I would want her with me in the real world are:
--------------------------------------------------- And that's the end~ I hope you all enjoyed reading my tale, and remember: your mind should be a palace, not a prison. And don't ever forget WHOEVER THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!!!!!! End of the interview. |

What a lovely read, King, I enjoyed it, and very much so, it was quite interesting to get a more intimate view of your life and upbringing, and I look forward to our friendship continuing throughout the course of our time on MAL. And no matter how hard I am on you or what you like, always remember, I value you greatly, and consider you a great friend. ^-^ I love our relationship, it's perhaps the most unique I share in comparison to every other user on this site. You are, in a sense, perhaps my own antithesis, at least in terms of shows we like and certain. But, as it continues, I discover more about myself every time we converse. And I like this style of writing you've chosen to take up for this interview, it truly makes efficient use of your... "GAR"-side, along with a more thoughtful view of life. Thank you very much for mentioning me, I'm honored as I am flattered. :3 Can't wait for our next conversation. Oh, yeah, and Satsuki is best girl.... in Kill la Kill, of course. ^-^ |

That's a rather romanticized idea of the military you have there, young one |
How to fix the review section, detailed here The average reader (HS level) reads at about 200 WPM. So a 500-800 word review should take 3-5 minutes to read. That's an acceptable length for something you're interested in spending 25 minutes to 4.5 hours of your life watching. Oh, and ANN requires any and all reviews to be 800-1200 words, no matter the length of the show. |

Alright it's done, I'm no longer putting any hope into it. It's been 2 years and Solvite still hasn't been interviewed. I thought I'd be nice and keep club announcements for you guys hoping one day interview some interesting people but nope. You guys continued to interview club fags and forum losers. The only interview out of the 87 that you guys have made, I've read 1. Immahnoob was the only interview I've read here. No solvite, no feels and it's been 2 years. Sorry, I've put up with numerous announcements only to be disappointed and let down. But not anymore, instead I'm gonna finally leave this club, later losers. See you and your interview list of mediocre users later. |
