To sum up the story in bullet point form:
- Democratic law maker goes into an express checkout line with too many items
- Man calls her out on it
- She presents a tearful video online screaming that "this white man was racist to me!"
- Later, walks back that "I don't remember what he said"
- Man comes forward, is CUBAN-american, and states that he called her "a lazy SOB"
- She now wants to press CRIMINAL CHARGES... for being rude to her
I'm frankly a bit terrified by the number of grown-ass adult humans that I have to explain the concept that "the appropriate response to someone hurting your feelings is not to instantly rip off their arm and beat them to death with it (Captain Marvel), nor is it to run screaming to the internet to get up a lynch mob". But apparently that makes me a "right-wing reactionary" now... You know: universal healthcare supporting, anti-corporation, weed-legalization supporting, pro marriage-equality, anti-religious science denial, pro gun control, anti-torture "right wing"... because words mean nothing now and the truth is dead.
