    You make it look so easy Will, you're an inspiration. I have learnt so much from your channel. Who do you draw inspiration from? Other photographers/painters?

    Excellent video! The tip about warmer in the highlights and cooler in the shadows particularly speak to me. I used to warm the entire image and it was making the picture not as appealing...Now I understand why ! Thank you !

    A few thoughts on how I might approach this a bit different, and worth trying: use linear adjustment curve masks with a linear camera profile...before touching a single slider in camera raw or LR. Starting with a linear profile for your specific camera, gives you a better starting point, as well as making your sliders more impactful. Using linear masked adjustment curves to adjust GAMA, endpoints, mid tones, and local contrast, will allow you to massage all the important data that is in your brightest pixels, down into your mid tones and darks, avoiding noise and pixelation. All this before you touch any of the module sliders. This approach is focused towards fine art prints and enlargements where pixel level detail is more noticeable.

    Super video, William - full of tips and tricks 🙏
    I use Affinity Photo 2 so local adjustments take a bit more effort (the "Photoshop" side of Affinity is awesome 🤘) but watching your editing videos has helped shape my workflow so thank you for that.
    I am especially grateful for the "leave it/come back to it" tip .. it's amazing things you notice with fresh eyes 😁
    Great video .. thanks as always 🙏📸

    I watched one of your prior videos using the brush, and I started using it more and more and found it very effective - thanks for revisiting the brush in this video to confirm my decision to follow your editing process. Thanks.

    I always strive to avoid clipping the whites and the blacks and you do not address this at all. Is it not a concern of yours? Thanks.

    • @WilliamPatinoPhotography
      @WilliamPatinoPhotography  5 дней назад +2

      Minor clipping is fine and resembles reality. Gotta have some clipped whites directly at the centre of the sun, otherwise it’ll look like a cartoon. When printing you don’t want any clipped blacks so you need to raise them a lot which is a different subject altogether. but for viewing digital on backlit monitors it’s fine to leave darker tones dark and I generally leave an edit as you see in this video here.

      Thanks for the clarification. Love your images and editing process. I’ve adopted using the brush much more than I have in the past. It works great!
